The Fort Bend County Fire Marshal is the authority having jurisdiction for the unincorporated areas of Fort Bend County. It is the responsibility of the Fort Bend County Fire Marshal to review the plans for installation of fire alarm and fire protections systems in new facilities in Fort Bend County. In addition to submitting plans to the Fire Marshal's Office, visit the Sheriff's Office Game Room page for regulations and permit application.

As of August 1, 2014, unincorporated Fort Bend County will utilize the 2012 International Fire Code, related Local Amendments and the Fort Bend County Fire Code [PDF].  Contact us to request a Fire & Life Safety Inspection.

    • Plans must be stamped and originally signed on all copies by a fire protection engineer or a Texas licensed RME-U. If signed by an RME-U, the RME-U shall be listed under the company’s SCR with the Texas State Fire Marshal’s Office.
